To launch our weekend activities lineup, we are going to explore Barcelona with a tour of the city! We will visit famous Gaudi’s monuments including Sagrada Familia, an impressive work that began in 1882 and continues to this day, one of Gaudi’s unfinished dreams and now the center of Barcelona that will continue until its end sometime in the 21st century. Another impressive marvel you’ll experience is Casa Mila, far from just any house; this incredible house offers some of the best picture opportunities in the city with its open roof balcony and unique touches throughout the house. Describing Casa Battló does not do it justice as it is a must see, there’s nothing like it in the world and you will be amazed at the architecture of this house that resemble a dragon from the inside out. Get ready to take in the Olympic stadium on Mont Juïc and the Olympic Port, both which are Barcelona must sees. We will conclude the tour in Anonio Gaudi’s Parc Güell which is filled with some of the most unique architecture in the world, this is definitely a must see with some amazing photo opportunities you won’t want to miss. This will be your opportunity to take note of all the great places you’ll want to explore throughout the summer. Once we are done touring, we will feast on traditional Spanish paella in the Gothic quarter and spend the evening on the beach. Get ready to fall in love with Barcelona.
This weekend will be all about beautiful scenery and wine! This weekend will be a great cultural experience on the process of wine making in Spain, you'll learn all about the winery and the Torres family who has been a staple to Spain's wine industry for years. After enjoying some wine and learning all about the process you'll get a great lunch at a rural restaurant before heading to Montserrat for the afternoon. Barcelona’s Montserrat is a spectacularly beautiful Benedictine monk mountain retreat about one hour North West from Barcelona.
We will take a tour of the Monastery of Montserrat and visit the famous Royal Basilica: Montserrat is a symbol a Catalonia situated in the holy mountain outside Barcelona. This impressive Monastery contains the virgin of Montserrat "la Moreneta" (Black Madonna), the patron saint of Catalonia. Montserrat boasts natural rock formations rising to a height of 4, 000 feet (1,224 meters). The present day community of Montserrat is made up of a hundred monks who are governed by the rule of San Benedict (6th century). It was considered the home of the Holy Grail, and today it is a prime cultural and tourist attraction, as well as one of the most important pilgrimage places on the Iberian Peninsula.
