WORLD'S LEADING INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS
Frequently Asked Questions
Why would a student pay to participate in University of Dreams when they can find an internship on their own or utilize their campus career center for free?
University of Dreams provides a great opportunity for students to expand the reach of their internship search by eliminating obstacles such as securing housing and planning all of the logistics involved in securing an internship in a major metropolitan city. Additionally, not all campus career centers offer internship placement assistance on a nationwide basis.
UOD works with each student individually to improve their candidacy through reviewing the fundamentals of resume revision and interview preparation. We evaluate their competencies and give them access to a network of over 2,000 internships with participating employers. Employers then select candidates that they wish to interview before making a final decision about what candidate will make the best fit for their company. The student earns the internship only after completing every step of the guided process that we provide them.
Lastly, students are paying a tuition that covers the logistics of planning the experience-housing for the duration of the program in a metropolitan city, transportation, 6 planned weekend activities, career development seminars, and 24-hour on-site staffing.
What do we mean by "guaranteed internships"?
This is our money-back guarantee. We guarantee that we will place each participant in an internship in his or her industry of interest. If we do not succeed in placing a student by the designated placement deadline for his or her program, he or she is eligible for a full refund, no questions asked.
How do we facilitate internship placement?
Each participant is assigned a Participant Advisor and an Internship Coordinator depending on the program location and industry of interest. Their Participant Advisor will work with them to revise their resume, prepare them for interviews and answer any program related questions, once the student is prepared and their resume has been updated they are handed off to one of our Internship Coordinators. The IC will discuss their internship interests, submit applications to their companies of interest, facilitate phone interviews and, when selected by employers, present students with job offers. What is most important to understand about our placement process is that the student is in complete control at all times. The student chooses in what industry he or she is interested, the companies to which he or she would like to apply and whether or not to accept each internship offer he or she receives. Our Participant Advisors and Internship Coordinators advise students whenever necessary but are primarily there to help students find and obtain the internship they want.
What is the University Network?
The University Network is an opportunity for career center professionals, study abroad advisors and other university administrators to partner with University of Dreams in order to appropriately receive and disseminate information, track student applications and enrollment, as well as monitor and improve the services and resources offered to students via our internship and study abroad programs. Network members also have the ability to serve on the University Advisory Board upon invitation.
