Finance Internship Placement Process

Our placement process will educate and prepare you for an internship in finance. Most importantly, you will have full control of the internship placement process.

The first step is to Apply Online to our Program by selecting the destination and industry of your interest. After you complete the Dream Careers application online, our Admissions Committee will review your application and send you their decision within 7 days. Apply Now

Internship Preparation

Once enrolled, you are specifically assigned to an Internship Coordinator (IC) that is an expert in the finance industry. Your IC will advise you on opportunities within the finance industry and prepare internship of your choice. You will be given access to Dream Career’s proprietary internship preparation and selection tool CareerConnect™.

  • Professional Resume Revision - You will be guided through a world class resume revision process. Your IC is very well trained on how to bring out the best in your resume and focus on what employers like to see.
  • Interview Preparation - After your resume has been completed, your IC will work with you using use a custom interview tutorial as well as one-on-one mock interviews to coach & prepare you for any phone interviews.

Internship Selection

You will be given full access to all of Dream Career’s exclusive internship listings. This includes detailed information regarding employers, internship descriptions, and requirements. Typically your IC will ask you to select a group of approximately 3-5 companies/internships that interest you the most.

  • Resume Submission/Interview-Once you finalize a target list of companies with your IC, your IC will reach out to those companies on your behalf (resume submission) and work to set up phone interviews.
  • Acceptance-If after the interview the employer offers you an internship position, you will have the opportunity to either accept or decline the position. If you accept, you are officially placed. If you decline the offer, then you will repeat the process with your IC until you are satisfied with your placement; guaranteed!

Internship Coaching & Guidance

Once you arrive to your program you will be taken through an orientation where we cover initial internship tips and offer one-on-one coaching. Our Internship Coaching is designed to help you make the most out of your experience. We focus on:


  • Problem Solving/Strategies related to internship challenges
  • Professional & Workplace development (bridging the gap)
  • Resumes, Cover Letters, and Networking
  • Career Advice, Mentorship, and Communication
