WORLD'S LEADING INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Dreamer Spotlight: Marissa Browne

Marissa Browne is living the dream.

She participated in the NYC 2005 program and interned at Mara Hoffman Incorporated. Today Marissa is the production manager of Mara Hoffman’s fashion line company. She gives UofDreams all the credit.

“University of Dreams literally is the reason why I am where I am today. Taking part in the program is the best decision I have ever made,” Marissa says.

Marissa says that without UofDreams she wouldn’t have known how to find an internship, let alone an internship that would turn into a dream job for her.

“I don’t ever see myself leaving Mara Hoffman Inc.,” she says. “I can’t even imagine working anywhere else. I just can’t.”

While many participants choose to work for larger corporations, Marissa found beauty in the smaller-company feel.

“My work is more than work—it’s my family. We have grown from the beginning together, been through a lot, and there’s nothing that really compares,” she says. “I’m doing a job I couldn’t enjoy more and working with people I couldn’t love or care about more.”

Marissa says that since she’s living her career dream right now, the only goal she has for her future is to continue doing what she loves. She says she feels incredibly fortunate to be able to wake up excited to go to work each day. She says life is too short to waste precious hours at a job that isn’t fulfilling.

As Marissa looks back fondly on UofDreams for helping her to realize her dreams, she excitedly watches for what big things lie ahead as she moves her company forward.
