WORLD'S LEADING INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Dreamer Spotlight:Angela Guidry

If there’s a person who could use a few extra hours tacked on to each day, it’s Angela Guidry. This 2004 LA participant stays busy with a full-time job, co-ownership of an e-commerce business, and work as a sorority recruitment advisor. And if that weren’t enough, she lives by the beach, which means she also needs to find time to soak up the sun!

Angela’s UofD internship was at the Celestine Agency in Santa Monica. The Celestine Agency works with some of the top names in the fashion, beauty, and entertainment industries. Almost four years later, Angela is still working for the agency and was recently promoted to Junior Agent. She is working hard to further the company’s success by working to acquire new clients.

Angela also stays busy with co-ownership of SassySash.com, a web site that designs and manufactures custom sashes for special events, like the ones we’ve all seen that say “Bachelorette” or “Birthday Girl.”

“I work a lot,” Angela says. “My job at Celestine is Monday through Friday from nine to six. I normally leave at about seven to head home and start making sashes until around one or two in the morning to keep up with the demand. I am really looking forward to growing my business so we can start having the  sashes mass produced so we can focus on other aspects of the company such as marketing and selling. When the weekend comes, I am typically drained. Thanks to coffee bean, I push through and work on my business on the weekends as well.”

Angela hopes that soon her sashes will be sold in boutiques nationwide, which will then allow her to expand her business into other markets, including the design of a clothing line.

And in addition to her dual careers, she’s also recently agreed to be the recruitment advisor for Alpha Phi sorority at Pepperdine University. Angela was a member of Alpha Phi at Ball State University in Indiana.

As busy as Angela is, she still hopes to find time to take advantage of living in Los Angeles. “I love living near the beach,” she says. “I hope with my future career success, I can spend more time outdoors, as well as traveling. I also look forward to finding charitable opportunities where I can give time and financial contributions.”
