Beth Lochtefeld
![]() Elizabeth Anne Lochtefeld, our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, business partner and friend, was suddenly and unexpectedly taken from us on Monday, October 25, 2004 at the age of 44. Beth loved life, and lived it with curiosity, delight, and joy. Her warm heart and enthusiasm for life touched everyone she came in contact with. This web page is a collection of thoughts and images from those who loved her most. We invite you to visit it as often as you like. Below are several links that will help you learn more about Beth. They include the beautiful eulogies given at each of her funerals attended by over 1400 people, a letter to a Master Aikido instructor asking to become a pupil, a heart warming statement from her family, and many highlights from the guestbook on her website (www.bethlochtefeld.org) that hundreds of people felt compelled to sign. If you have additional thoughts or images that you would like to see added to this page, please send them to Elina_Stavros@UofDreams.org. Did You Know Beth Wrote A Book? |
|
|
As Beth's family was boxing up her
personal belongings, they discovered a finished manuscript for a book she
had been writing over the last two years of her life. As it was her pride
and joy to talk about, many who were closest to her knew about the book, but
the book took on a whole new meaning once we all realized that it was her
parting gift to the world. Her brothers and sister decided to band together
to get the book published. They then graciously donated the book to the
University of Dreams Foundation, who will take on the role of distributing
the book.
Thus the BIG idea for the University of
Dreams Foundation was born. In Beth's memory, a company would be built to
bring Dreamers and Dream Supporters together to get Dreamers the resources
they need to pursue their Dreams. We are proud to announce that Beth's book is available for purchase and that 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to the University of Dreams General Grant Fund and distributed to deserving Dreamers so that they can make their dreams come true. Appropriately enough, Beth titled the book, "Tell Me About Your Dreams." It features 25 of her father's fanciful, whimsical intaglio prints accompanied by an original short story with each photo. It is sure to inspire the greatness that lies within you. To purchase a copy of the book, simply click on the Buy Now button. The price of the book is $29.95 plus $2.50 for shipping and handling. With each book that is purchased and read, her personal legend of inspiring and equipping Dreamers to pursue their dreams is kept alive. |

co-founded by Beth and her cousin Eric Lochtefeld shortly before her death.
Beth and Eric had co-founded the very successful University of Dreams Inc. (
The rest of this website will tell that story, but there is one way you can
help with this dream.
